Susan McGrath has devoted the past decade to pursuing the rights and increased wellbeing of older people.
As an analyst, advisor and advocate in senior policy roles at COTA Australia, the EveryAGE Counts campaign to end ageism and National Seniors Australia she has contributed to many government policy decisions and processes affecting older people. She has represented the interests of older people on numerous high-level government, not-for-profit, academic and private sector bodies and was a non-executive Board member for the Australian Association of Gerontology. Sue was the Australian Association of Gerontology’s 2020 national Glenda Powell Travelling Fellow. Sue is now semi-retired and, among other activities, participates in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme in Canberra and is a non-executive Board Member with the EveryAGE Counts campaign. Across her working life in senior professional roles in government, the NFP sector and private consulting Sue has promoted fairness, equity and rights as the foundation of effective social and economic policy.
