Ellen Finlay

Ellen is a public health researcher and policy specialist with expertise in ageing, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and social inequality. She holds a PhD in Public Health from UNSW, where her research focused on the ageing experiences of Aboriginal Elders and older Aboriginal people in Greater Sydney. Ellen is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Aboriginal Health and Ageing Program at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) and a Senior Policy and Research Officer at the Australian Association of Gerontology. Her work spans community-engaged research, policy development, and advocacy, with a strong commitment to Indigenous data sovereignty, ethical research practice, and translating research into meaningful policy and practice.

Ell is based in Sydney. When she’s not at work, she likes to shoot hoops, listen to music and go camping.
