2025 04 03 - AAG WA presents: Successful ageing and goal setting for older adults
_
This presentation will discuss successful ageing and goal setting of older people living across three different regions of the world: Australia/New Zealand, United Kingdom/Ireland and the United States/Canada.

Previous research has often investigated successful ageing and goal setting from a health perspective. More recently older adults’ perspectives have been included in successful ageing. However, this is the first multi-national study to ask older adults how they define successful ageing. Similarly, goals setting with older people is predominantly reported in a health or social care context after recovering from injury or illness. We explored whether older people set goals outside of their health and if they did, what they were. We will present the findings from each study during this presentation.

Successful ageing is multidimensional
Goal setting for older adults is more than health related
It may give you ideas when discussing goal setting with older adults as part of your work
